All the power batteries of the new energy concept products use new energy lithium battery cells to form large-capacity lithium batteries, so what are the technical specifications of these lithium batteries? We know that battery sorters generally use 18650 battery specifications. 18650 is the originator of lithium-ion batteries in Japan SONY Company in order to save costs and set a standard lithium-ion battery model, where 18 indicates that the diameter is 18mm, 65 indicates that the length is 65mm, 0 indicates that the cylindrical battery.


The common 18650 battery is divided into lithium-ion batteries and lithium iron phosphate batteries. Lithium-ion battery voltage is nominal voltage 3.7v, charging cut-off voltage is 4.2v, lithium iron phosphate battery nominal voltage is 3.2V, charging cut-off voltage is 3.6v, the capacity is usually 1200mAh-3000mAh, common capacity is 2200mAh-2600mAh.


The lithium battery in the battery sorter knows what it is, so what is aging?


Aging is the loading and running of the product under a certain temperature and/or load, and the automatic selector tests whether the performance indicators of the product meet the technical requirements after a period of time or cycling.


Lithium battery aging generally refers to the battery assembly after the completion of liquid injection after the first charging into the place, can have room temperature aging can also have high temperature aging, the role is to make the SEI film formed after the initial charge nature and composition can be stable. The normal temperature aging temperature of the automatic sorting machine is 25 degrees, and the high temperature aging plant is different, some 38 degrees and 45 degrees, and the time is between 48-72 hours.


There are two kinds of aging: mouth aging and seal aging:


For batteries with open aging, if the relative humidity can be controlled below 2% for normal temperature aging, it is better to seal after aging.

For high temperature aging, it is better to age after sealing.


However, it is certain that the aging process has electrochemical dynamic changes, which is of great help to the stability of SEI and can promote the stability of the electrochemical system.


For lithium batteries, the principle and purpose of aging is to let the electrolyte fully infiltrate, the other is that some active components in the positive and negative active substances are deactivated through a certain reaction, the automatic sorting machine makes the overall performance of the battery more stable, many companies in order to speed up the process, take high temperature aging, but high temperature aging needs to pay attention to control time and temperature. Because high temperature aging will produce more degradation of living substances than normal temperature aging, well controlled, the active components are completely reactive, the battery characteristics are stable, the control is not good, the overreaction, then the electrical performance is reduced, the capacity is reduced, the IR is increased, and even the occurrence of leakage and other conditions are very likely.


The performance of the battery after high temperature aging is more stable, and the vast majority of lithium-ion battery manufacturers use high temperature aging operation during the production process, and the temperature is 45 to 50 degrees Celsius for 1 to 3 days, and then put aside at room temperature. The potential adverse phenomena of the battery after high temperature aging of the automatic sorting machine will be exposed: such as voltage changes, thickness changes, and internal resistance changes are direct tests of the safety and electrochemical performance of this batch of batteries.


High temperature aging is only to shorten the entire production cycle of the battery, the rigid battery at high temperature is only to accelerate the chemical reaction of the battery, the battery is not much good, it may damage the battery, the static time at constant temperature is more than three weeks, so that the positive and negative electrodes, diaphragm, electrolyte and other fully chemical reaction to achieve balance, then the battery performance is more real.
